PENNGROVE, CA (7-18-10) –
This Saturday night Alissa Geving and her Chicko Motorsports Sprint Car Team will join with their colleagues in the Golden State Challenge Sprint Car Series as the tour makes it's first visit to Marysville Raceway Park in several years. The new improved surface and facility in Marysville will be a welcomed challenge for Geving following a night of mixed results in round 20 at Antioch last Saturday.

"We are really looking forward to the visit to the new Marysville Raceway Park," said Geving. "It should be an exciting night for everything since it has been so long since the Golden State Challenge Series raced there. I haven't had much track time there since I ran Jimmy Sills' School and they remodeled the place so I'm really looking forward to it."

In the most recent event at Antioch Speedway, Geving advanced another position in the Golden State Challenge point standings despite an unfortunate rollover in the A-feature that placed her 14th overall in the 30-lap event.

Earlier in the night, Geving turned the eighth fastest position in qualifying with a 12:510 second lap aboard the Tillet Tool, Pit Stop USA, Auto Repairs Unlimited #3x Maxim. In preliminary heat racing Geving finished in second place of the evening's second heat race. She started the feature event in the eighth position. Geving was advancing through the field and working on the fifth position when the #3x suffered a rollover while running the highline of the second turn.

"We we're a front running car for sure tonight, the crew really had it set up great," said Geving. "Just as was getting into the top five I ran out of real estate running the high side and it ended our night with 14th. I want to thank my crew for all their hard work, we'll come back in Marysville and try to get back up front."

As she enters the 21st segment of the King of California Sprint Car Series, Geving is now up to the sixth position in the championship point standings. She is just 10-points out of fifth place. Geving has claimed two heat race victories in the series and has five top ten finishes in the 2010 series. Following the event at Marysville Raceway Park, the Golden State Challenge Series will wrap up over the next three weeks with upcoming events at Ocean Speedway on August 7 and Placerville Speedway on August 21.

PENNGROVE, CA (7-7-10) – This Saturday night Alissa Geving and her Chicko Motorsports Sprint Car Team will continue their commitment to the 2010 Golden State Challenge Series in round 19 of competition at Santa Maria Speedway. Despite a series of mechanical setbacks throughout the year, Geving remains commited to the King of California tour and currently ranks in the top ten among California's best drivers.

"I'm in this series for the long haul that’s for sure," said Geving. "I set my goal to be in the top ten my first year and we are a little bit ahead of that. We've just had our share of misfortunes lately. It happens to best. I have a great group of sponsors that support me through the highs and lows and I appreciate all of them. I'm hoping this week we will get a top finish."

As she heads to Santa Maria Speedway for the second time in her racing career, Geving is currently seventh in the Golden State Challenge Series point standings. She has four top ten finishes in this grueling series that features the best of the best in 410 sprint car racing. She's garnered two heat race wins so far and has had a number of top runs that would have netted top finishes until mechanical woes forced her out of contention.

Last weekend, Geving was well on her way to a top finish at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico following her preliminary competition. In qualifying during the July Fourth Spectacular at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico the 18-year-old third generation driver was 7th quick with a 12:275 second lap.

In heat race competition, Geving started in the third position and overtook hot shoe Bud Kaeding for the bridesmaid position behind point leader Jonathan Allard. The qualifying run and the second place finish placed Geving in the pre-feature dash that would ultimately determine her starting position for the 30-lap A-feature.

"The car felt great in qualifying and the heat race," said Geving. "Getting around Bud for second place was a blast. The car was really good during the preliminary races but the track was drying pretty fast."

Sunday's race program was extremely fast paced due to a fireworks display that followed the racing activity. With little time to make a decision on set up, the Chicko Motorsports team made a ill fated tire change that resulted in a spin and and eighth place finish. In the feature event Geving once again fell victim to the dry slick conditions and missed set up and suffered a pair of spins to finish 21st.

"The good night suddenly turned bad, what can I say," said Geving. "There was very little time between races to get our set up perfected and some fast decisions that didn't work out. But at the same time that's something we need to be prepared for because it could happen anytime down the road. This week we get back to Saturday night racing at the regular time and I think we will rally back into the swing of things."
